Meyerland Minyan

Meyerland Minyan strives to be a dynamic, Orthodox outreach congregation in the heart of Houston. We offer an atmosphere of warmth and community that is open to Jews of all levels of learning and observance, making everyone feel right at home.

The Minyan promotes Torah values, a sense of togetherness, Ahavat Yisrael, and support for the state of Israel, among its members and throughout the city. With a wide assortment of classes and programs for people of all ages and all backgrounds, Meyerland Minyan is helping to build Jewish life in Houston by connecting to fellow Jews where they live and where Jewish organizations are located.

Scholar in Residence, Dr. Herman Presby
September 5th and 6th

Dr. Herman Presby, a renowned speaker and scientist, addresses the relationship between science and Jewish beliefs. Discover the ancients secrets of the Torah that science is only now corroborating.

Dr. Presby received his Ph.D. in physics from Yeshiva University in 1966 and joined Bell Laboratories in 1972 where he was a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff, an award given for a sustained record of achievement and innovation. A prolific innovator and writer, Dr. Presby has published more than 150 papers and has some 100 US patents (granted and applied for) and holds more than 180 foreign patents.

Dr. Presby delivers regular classes in Talmud, Jewish law, Prophets, Ethics, and Psalms, both at Bell Laboratories and in his hometown of Highland Park, New Jersey.
